Measuring Guide For Wooden Blinds
Measuring for Wooden Blinds - Step by Step
Inside Recess
To fit your wooden blind inside the window recess, follow these steps. No need to make any deductions yourself. When you select recess as your installation method, we make the necessary adjustments to ensure your blind fits perfectly. This prevents the blind or fittings from scraping against the wall, allowing the slats and bottom rail to hang beautifully without touching the window sill.
Measure the width of your window recess in three places, top middle and bottom. Use the smallest measurement as your width.
Measure the drop of your window recess in three places, top middle and bottom. Use the smallest measurement as your drop.
Select your product, enter your width and drop measurements, and choose the Inside Recess sizing option. Deductions: When you select Inside Recess, we will make a small deduction to the width of your blind to accommodate the brackets.
Recess Obstructions
Factor in Obstructions
If you have obstructions within your recess e.g. tiles, measure between these two points and use this as your width measurement.
Blind Size
Determine the amount of overlap you want your blind to have on each side of your window recess, then measure this width.
Measure the distance from where you want the top of the blind to start to where you want the bottom to finish. This measurement is your drop
Go to your chosen product, enter your width and drop measurements, and select "Blind Size" as your sizing option. Note: When you select the "Blind Size" option, we will not make any deductions to your measurements. The size you provide will be the span from one bracket to the other.
